What is it ?
The « Tzim's Lite Codec Pack » is the bare, but sufficient minimum, for reading your videos, how bad they've been encoded.
Why another codecpack ?
The fact is no existent pack were good to me. Most of thoses packs are piles of junk, and includes useless codecs, which the only effect is to make the windows registry upside down. So I made my own codecpack, with the codecs I usually install, because it's more practical to install a codecpack than 5 codecs alone.
The main aim is : KEEP IT SIMPLE. For that, only two main component : FFDShow, which decodes almost everything, and for what's not handled by FFDShow : Media Player Classic will do. That simplicity avoids problems wich can be encountered with overloaded Codec Packs.

FFDShow Filter : All video and audio from A to Z ; read all formats and do it right. ( Link )
DirectVobSub Filter (VSFilter) : THE subtitle reader. ( Link )
Media Player Classic : For me the reference media player for windows. Do not confuse with Windows media player ! Its name and its interface look the same, but it is a totally different player (and a much much better). ( Link )
A custom wizard which will help you to configure the differents components according to your hardware configuration. (and especially the type of your speaker-set).
Good to know :
This codecpack is not designed for video encoding ! It's a pack of DirectShow filters and its purpose is for decoding (reading) only. To encode videos, I suggest you to visit doom9 or GordiantKnot homepages.
I also suggest to install DirectX 9b.
